Digital Horizons: Empowering Youth through Video Storytelling

Evolving demands of the European Union's economy necessitates individuals to possess a diverse set of key competencies for personal fulfillment, employability, social inclusion, and active citizenship. These competencies include literacy, multilingualism, numerical, scientific and engineering skills, digital and technology based competencies, interpersonal skills, active citizenship, entrepreneurship, and cultural awareness and expression. The project is designed to address these needs by engaging students and teachers in creating and sharing short video productions. This approach is intended to foster the development of these key competencies within the European educational framework. The activities involved in video production, such as scripting, storytelling, narration, digital editing, and collaboration, inherently enhance language skills, digital literacy, cultural understanding, critical thinking, creativity, and social and civic competencies. Moreover, the project emphasizes self-directed learning, teamwork, conflict resolution, and project management skills, essential for lifelong learning and adaptability. By leveraging the engaging medium of video production, the project offers a practical, innovative, and interactive method to develop and enhance the aforementioned key competencies among youth. This not only aligns with the educational goals of fostering diverse skills and cross-cultural understanding but also with the broader objectives of the European Union's to support education, training, youth, and sport. The project's focus is on digital readiness and capacity building in the context of digital.
