This project focuses on the weather, the importance of water as a natural resource, and explores the world of feelings and emotions. This project involves 3 classes in Italy and 2 classes in Portugal. In September students introduced each other in a meeting, discussed about the weather in their own county and presented their home town. To do so, they took pictures of the sky and of the city and did a little research study on local history for the presentation. In the following months, students read the picture book "Cyril the lonely cloud" and did some activities based on this story, planned together by the teachers in Italy and Portugal . Students in Italy and Portugal exchanged opinions about the message of the story with a presentation on Canva and presented to each other all the activities they did (songs, drawing, CLIL lessons, posters about the weather and how we feel about it,...). Students in Italy re-created the book with recycled materials. They even created a brand new picture of Cyril floating over the city of Venice, a famous city near our school. Teachers arranged a visit to the nursery school nearby where students were able to read the story to the pupils here and gave them a happy cloud with a rainbow filled with kind words. Al the end of the school year students in Italy and Portugal update each other on the new activities, based on the importance of water in society and how they can save this resource.
