Globally raising affluence increases huge energy consumptions, which leads to too much CO2 in the atmosphere. Experts are sure that till 2050 the warming of the earth - caused by its inhabitants - must not increase more than +2°C because otherwise the consequences of the climate change couldn’t be mastered any longer. For many years ‘saving the environment’ was a very important topic at school. Checking current schoolbooks it seems that priorities have changed. On the other hand how to fight global warming is a permanent issue in newspapers, on web and TV. For many pupils at our schools climate change is an abstract term. They've heard about it but their knowledge is often little and hardly coherent. Children and young people are the key to long term changes of behavior. Our pupils must know about the consequences climate change will have for us, that we are all responsible for our common future.
