Greek flag
The Greek flag
The flag of Greece contains nine horizontal lines alternating in white and blue. It also has a white cross within a blue square. This cross symbolizes the Eastern Orthodox Church. There is a popular theory that the nine stripes correspond to the Greek syllables "Freedom or Death". The blue and white color symbolize the colors of the Greek sky and sea.
