Naďa Nevlazlová Luhová, Súkromná materská škola Stella, Slovakia
Stella is a private kindergarten in Poprad that provides high-quality educational
activities for children of preschool age. The private kindergarten is a two-class
preschool for 2.-6. year-old children closer to the family type with a more
intimate atmosphere and greater possibilities for individualization of education.
It has been included in the network of schools and school facilities
of the Slovak Republic since 2006.
Its ambition is not only to provide children with shelter when parents are busy
with work, but especially to effectively support the child's development,
to supplement parenting with stimuli that the family cannot provide to children.
The school's program is oriented towards stimulating the overall creative
potential, education for creativity with a focus on developing emotional
intelligence and quality preparation for the first year of elementary school.
Education in our SMŠ is oriented towards the development of divergent thinking,
which leads to several alternative solutions.
On the part of the teachers,
proactive education is implemented, requiring active
expression from the entrusted children - creating hypotheses and formulating
ideas. The educational activity is carried out with the intentions of modern
pedagogical and psychological procedures, but also classic proven
recommendations using methods that activate and develop children in all aspects,
it is built on natural and deliberately induced situations in which children have
to solve, decide, assess, do something.

Our school took its name from Pir Sultan Abdal, one of the important poets of 16th Century Turkish Literature. Our school started its education life as kindergarten classes in the 2010-2011 academic year as Pir Sultan Abdal Primary School. It was converted into an independent kindergarten on 16/12/2022 in the 2022-2023 academic year. Our school uses the same building as Pir Sultan Abdal Primary School and Pir Sultan Abdal Secondary School. There are 6 pre-school teachers working in our school and 74 students are receiving education.
