Asturian cider
Cider is the typical drink from our region Asturias,in the north of Spain.
More than two thousand varieties of apples are used to produce cider. Here we have some information about the most used varieties of apples to make Asturian cider.
4th and 5th graders visited a "llagar" in Asturian language is a cider mill.
They learnt all the steps to make natural cider, from the time the apples get into the cider mill until cider is bottled.
They could see how people worked in the cider mill and they even tried apple juice!
Students from 6th grade visited one of the oldest cider mills in Asturias,
"El Gaitero" . The centenary cider press produces one of the most popular sparkling ciders in Spain.
