Please find below information about the Better Internet for Kids (BIK) initiative and invitation to be part of the very first evaluation of the BIK+ strategy that was launched in May 2022. 

BIK is organizing two online consultations sessions for teachers and educators as their input and contribution will be most important and valuable as professionals who interact with students daily and understand the real-world implications of the BIK+ strategy and associated policies and priorities.

Dear eTwinners,

I would like to inform you about the new initiative of European Schoolnet, which is called menABLE Toolbox. The core of the Toolbox is an engaging card game for educators and youth to explore and learning more about preventing gender-based violence (GBV) online. It’s available in English, Danish, French, Dutch and Greek already. 

To learn more about the Toolbox, how to engage and use it, as well as about the complex but highly important topic of preventing GBV online, the European Schoolnet Academy will host a MOOC from 21 October – 27 November 2024. 
Registration for the MOOC has just opened, and can be found at Tackling Gender-Based Violence Online | European Schoolnet Academy. The workload is estimated for 3 hours per week (12 hours in total over the course of 6 weeks).

Please find below information about another event concerning the menABLE Toolbox. You cannot miss it.

On behalf of the menABLE project, an EC-funded initiative dedicated to combat gender-based violence online, we are delighted to announce the launch of a call for interest for the menABLE EU hackathon 2024! 🎉

Scheduled on 25 September 2024 in Aarhus (Denmark), the menABLE EU hackathon aims to gather and engage young people (preferably aged 15-18 years old), educational professionals, and relevant experts from across Europe to test, improve, and further develop our recently created Toolbox and educational materials for combating gender-based violence (GBV) online. The hackathon will be a platform for collaboration, where participants will work hand in hand to brainstorm, innovate, and create impactful solutions to combat GBV online.

Educational professionals are especially encouraged to apply for this fully paid opportunity and bring along their students or groups of young people. Their expertise and perspective will greatly enrich the experience!
