School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)

The project focused on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), a scientific strategy that gives school employees the organisational structure to take preventative action with the assistance of external coaches. PBS adheres to the idea that significant change can only take place and be sustained when surrounding systems are restructured, and it emphasises the importance of the stakeholders’ active participation.

The goal of the SWPBS project was to advance the problem-solving approach, in which school personnel and management work to determine their institution’s requirements, create and carry out an action plan, and evaluate its success.

The project produced various outputs which are available in four languages (EN, EL, FI, RO):

• needs analysis on SWPBS in the partner countries;
• intervention and training materials;
• reports on piloting and implementation;
• policy recommendations for scalability and sustainability of SWPBS.
