Vegstigators

Short description

Young pupils are part of a group called “Vegstigators - vegetable investigators”, in which they work together to learn more about vegetables and become more aware of their importance. The project includes various fun activities to do as a group or individually, both within their own country and internationally. During the project, pupils decide together what they want to learn by voting and making mind maps. They get to carry out experiments, draw, conduct interesting research and work together to learn. Vegetables are not just something we eat every day, there is a whole world to discover!

Examples of maximum 3 activities that will be related to the QL criteria

Activity 1: All the countries worked collaboratively to create their own mascots. Each team made the body of the future mascot. Next, it was sent to the other partners by post so they could add arms and legs. After that, it was sent to another partner to add the head of the mascot.

In the end, each team had a unique mascot that had been made collaboratively.

While traveling, the mascots bore different symbols from the countries they came from.

Activity 2: Five student-led investigations took place throughout the project, incorporating the inquiry-based learning and integrating the curriculum. In the first investigation, pupils chose the vegetable they wanted to learn more about. To assess prior knowledge, pupils in international groups collaboratively drew what they believed would be inside each vegetable.

Afterwards, they verified whether their assumptions were correct by looking inside the vegetables. At the end, they created posters and videos to present what they had learnt to their peers.

Pax Media

Short description

This project is focused on Fake News, delving into an examination of the mechanisms that drive this societal phenomenon: its creation, propagation, and associated challenges. The primary goal is to debunk false information and cultivate pupils’ critical thinking skills.

Examples of maximum 3 activities that will be related to the QL criteria

Activity 1: French pupils shared a Genially presentation containing various images. They added comments to each image. In their international groups, consisting of partners from Italy and Spain, they were tasked to identify the original images from the ones that had been retouched. Additionally, they had to determine whether the comments associated with the images were accurate or not. They shared their answers on Padlet. After everyone had completed the task, the solutions were shared on TwinSpace.

Activity 2: As part of the project, each participating school had to pose two questions, and the other two partners had to provide potential answers. Some of these answers intentionally contained fake information, challenging the participants to identify and expose incorrect information. Once all the questions and answers had been gathered, international teams collaborated to create an engaging and interactive game that is available here: https://view.genial.ly/61f15f463cffec0018aae60c/interactive-content-pax-media-game

Roma dixit

Short description

The project aims to discover and analyse the most famous Latin and Ancient Greek phrases that have been in use from classical antiquity to the present day. The goal is to reinforce the linguistic, cultural, multilingual, and digital skills of secondary and upper secondary school students from four European schools.

Examples of maximum 3 activities that will be related to the QL criteria

Activity 1: “Roma dixit challenge”: Pupils received a letter from Professor Minerva McGonagall, Headmistress of Hogwarts, which had been encrypted using the Caesar cipher. They had to work together in international groups to decrypt the letter and discover a numerical code by answering questions on an online form. They then had to write the corresponding paragraph on the TwinSpace page.

Activity 2: The Collaborative Glossary of Latin sentences and the Gallery of Latinisms consists of a written explanation of some Latin quotes (motivational phrases, aphorisms and so on) in English and the original language, and their translation into the languages of the pupils. The digital formats used were Genially presentations, Google presentations, and an emaze gallery made collaboratively by international teams.

I have a DREAM

Short description

The aim of the project was to bring students together so that they could practise their communication and ICT skills and develop a positive attitude towards the world, their present wellbeing and the future. The acronym DREAM represented the ideas that the project focused on: D - design of the ideal future world, R - respect for the past, human rights and copyright; E - empathy towards other humans and our planet; A - actions undertaken to raise awareness of important local and global issues; M - motivation sparked by the meaningful challenges organised by the international Dream Team. The project started with the following driving question: ‘How can I dream big and show that I am an engaged dreamer who acts to make my dreams come true?’

Examples of maximum 3 activities that will be related to the QL criteria

Activity 1: Students learned about the New European Bauhaus and worked in international groups to answer to the following questions:

  • How do you see the new Bauhaus?
  • How can you create beautiful, sustainable, and inclusive spaces for learning?

Their answers were related to their international team topic. The teams were: plants/animals/nature, history, medicine/health/sport, social justice, technology, fashion and design, art and street art, writing/poetry/reading, music, films. All of the teams reported the outcomes of their discussions in dedicated forums on TwinSpace.

Activity 2: The pupils searched for important or interesting events in their history and lives, and created stories supplemented by visuals (CC photos/slides, Europeana images, short videos) in order to learn from each other. They then worked in international teams to create comic strips of the international past according to their team topic. Growing digital

Short description

With developing technology in today's world, face-to-face marketing and commerce have changed their dimensions and transitioned to the internet environment. With this transition, the basic elements of digital marketing have been formed and a theoretical framework has emerged.

However, as the process progresses, people's shopping habits have changed rapidly, and knowing and applying the basics of digital marketing has become a necessity, not an option.
The project’s aim is to develop students’ digital marketing skills and allow them to run and manage their current/planned business in the digital world in English.

Examples of maximum 3 activities that will be related to the QL criteria

Activity 1: Following research on marketing strategies and the essential elements of a business webpage, students collaborated in international groups to develop their own individual business websites. Subsequently, all groups provided constructive feedback to one another, offering valuable suggestions for enhancing each other's respective businesses.

Activity 2: In this activity, students formed an association of entrepreneurs. Each international group took on the responsibility of creating a specific section of the association's webpage, such as the mission statement, values, policies, and design. By working together, the groups collaboratively developed a comprehensive and cohesive webpage that accurately represented the association and its core principles.
