The Educational Leadership Network Europe (ELNE): transforming schools into learning communities

Driving positive change in European education
ELNE has two main objectives: to showcase exemplary research, practices and social programmes, and to provide a platform for meaningful dialogue among education stakeholders. As a result of this work, ELNE aims to publish annual research conclusions and policy recommendations that support informed policymaking and research implementation related to the European Commission’s policy work on teachers and school leaders.
In its first year of operation, ELNE’s overarching theme for its work programme is ‘Transforming schools into learning communities’. It aims to empower all education stakeholders and foster collaboration within local communities, enacting leadership at all levels.
ELNE advocates for collaborative school leadership and fostering transformative approaches to create inclusive, equitable and thriving learning communities.
European Educational Leadership Week 2024
Every year, ELNE will host the European Educational Leadership Week (EELW), a week-long online forum made up of dynamic and innovative webinars. The next EELW will take place from 12 to 16 February 2024. You can register for the EELW webinars on the ELNE website.
ELNE’s network, accompanied by a wide audience of education stakeholders, will explore topics such as the attractiveness of teacher careers, alternative pathways to the profession, and the relationship between research and practice, from the standpoint of collaborative leadership in education.
The research, practices and expertise shared at these events will be compiled, along with further contributions, to the digital library on the ELNE website, which will become a repository of collaborative leadership examples from which the education community will benefit.
