IES "Legio VII" is a Public Secondary School located in Spain’s northwest city of León. It has been providing public education from the year 1982 and it currently targets two levels: Compulsory Secondary Education (1/2/3/4 ESO) and Sixth Form (1/2 Bachillerato). It also develops a Distance-Learning Programme for adult people, being the only authorised school in the Province of León to offer this type of education at both levels. This blended-learning programme allows adult students to balance work and studies while enjoying personalised attention through an innovative Moodle open-source learning platform. Furthermore, IES Legio VII offers bilingual education in English at different stages in various secondary subjects, being this bilingual programme an essential part of the school’s global philosophy.

The school’s educational philosophy is to deliver accredited quality education (both compulsory and post-compulsory) to ALL its students, the quality of which is based on a multiple perspective approach: Inclusive Education / Competence-based Approach / Promotion of Democratic Values / Integration of ICTs in Education / Promotion of Foreign Languages / Systematic Training of Teachers

In the school year 2022-23, IES Legio VII provides formal education to around 750 learners, comprising both classroom and distance teaching. In order to carry out this, it relies on the good practice of 65 teachers and 12 members of the Administration and Service staff.
