Mathematics Is a Universal Language – The World Code

The World Code is a nine-month international eTwinning project that brings together students aged 11–15 from different countries. The project is based on the idea that mathematics is not only a subject of numbers and calculations, but also a universal language that connects people, cultures, technology and our world. Throughout the project, students will discover and solve a different “code” each month through activities combining mathematics, science, technology, artificial intelligence, art, environmental awareness, culture and communication. The project will begin with the selection of World Ambassadors and continue with activities such as comparing human and AI solutions to global problems, designing and building disaster-resistant structures through STEAM, creating mysterious planet artworks, producing 30–60 second public service announcements about water, preparing and signing a Blue World Agreement, creating a technology-focused newspaper from the year 2050, and exchanging letters with students from different countries. At the end of each month, students will gain a code piece. In the final month, all the pieces will be brought together to solve “The World Code.” The project will conclude with a final exhibition where students will present their work and receive participation certificates.
