Empowering active citizenship through local action

Created by Anita SIMAC
Last updated by Anita SIMAC 8 months 2 weeks ago

The project promotes active citizenship by encouraging students to engage with their local community on zero-related goals, thereby celebrating their role as united members in a global cause. It’s about showing that small, local efforts can contribute to global SDG targets.

By developing actionable plans and campaigns, students become active citizens, not just in their own cities but as part of a global movement. Citizenship education here celebrates the empowerment of individuals to make a difference, starting locally and thinking globally.

Citizenship education and eTwinning connect by empowering students to become advocates for change. By promoting the SDGs and working towards "zero" targets, students are not only learning about global citizenship but also actively contributing to it by bringing their communities together.

By raising awareness, students are celebrating what unites us—the universal need for action on the SDGs. Citizenship education here is about fostering an engaged, informed society that works together toward common goals, recognizing the shared future we all strive for.
