I have been teaching English as a foreign language for 26 years already, in a public Portuguese school in the city of Caniço in Madeira island. Before that I had a degree in Tourism and worked as a tourist guide in the island of Madeira since 1987.
As a teacher, I have been involved (as a founder or as a partner) in 9 eTwinning projects, so far. I am very interested in taking part in projects related to exchanging cultural traditions, environmental and health education, Special Needs education and inclusion, arts in the classroom, etc. So, fortunately, this year, I am a co-founder of a new project related to cultural heritage and penpal exchange.
The main communication language of the project would be English, but I can also communicate in French, Italian and Spanish (a bit of German) and am currently learning Dutch on my own, with the support of the Internet. I am excited about trying this new platform and forster new friendships.
I love working in collaboration and in project works with my students. I strongly believe in hands-on learning.
Besides being a teacher, I'm also an actress in a very remarkable drama group that has contributed to the history of Theatre in the island for around 47 years - ATEF.
In my free time I love performing, knitting, reading, dancing, travelling and getting to know about other countries food, places, culture, people's interests, etc.
