Description

This course is designed for language educators eager to enhance their instructional practices with artificial intelligence. 
We'll move beyond the basics, diving into diverse AI applications that powerfully support vocabulary development, writing improvement, listening, and speaking skills, alongside evolving methods for language assessment.

Each session is highly interactive, featuring group discussions, hands-on activities, and peer collaboration. You won't just learn about AI; you'll use it, developing concrete strategies and resources for immediate classroom implementation. By the end of the week, you'll have crafted personalised lesson plans and assessment methods, and developed your own ethical guidelines for using AI responsibly and effectively in your teaching. 

Learning objectives

  • Identify and critically assess a range of cutting-edge AI tools that enhance language learning across various contexts. 
  • Apply AI technologies to create innovative and interactive activities for vocabulary, writing, listening, and speaking, tailored to diverse student needs. 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and ethical implications of AI-driven assessments in measuring language proficiency and informing instructional practices. 
  • Design and develop lesson plans that seamlessly integrate AI tools to promote student engagement and deepen language acquisition

Methodology & assessment

The methodology is communicative and task-based, with a focus on practical ideas and materials development. Participants are encouraged to share their own ideas and experiences, collaborate with peers and to reflect on learning and tasks.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

Digital and supplementary materials are interesting and stimulating. All classrooms are multimedia equipped.

Pricing, packages and other information

  • Course package content:

    Course fee includes all classes teaching materials & enrolment fees;  and afternoon Dublin city orientation,  

    Accommodation (hotel, host family or student residence) and meals available at additional cost - please enquire.

    Optional full day weekend excursion available starting from €50 pp.

    Description of the services and activities included in the course package (such as accommodation, meals, transport) or available at extra cost.
  • Cancellation & changes:

    Cancellation of booking before arrival: For cancellations received at least fourteen (14) days prior to the course commencement date, fees will be refunded less the nonrefundable deposit of €250. For cancellations received within 7-13 days of the course commencement date, 50% of the course fees will be refunded. For cancellations received less than 7 days before the course commencement date, no refund is given except under certain circumstances.
