
Person-centred approach: tools and methods
The main aim of the training is to enrich professional activities with a mindfulness approach, methods and techniques in order to support learners' well-being and mental health, efficiency and active participation.
Description
Programme:
- Day 1: Introduction, getting to know each other. Learning objectives, steps of the programme. Participants’ experiences in person-centred approach in education, collecting best practices. Intercultural welcome evening.
- Day 2: Tools and methods of person-centred approach. Workshop on person-centred planning. Working in pairs in various learning environments: testing person-centred planning tools.
- Day 3: Study trip: visiting innovative schools and meeting teachers. Collecting person-centred tools and methods in practice.
- Day 4: Cooperation inside and outside the school. Case-studies and problem-solving. Practicing the tools with local students.
- Day 5: Personal toolbox. Reflection. Evaluation.
Other details:
- Target audience: teachers, trainers, headmasters, school and education managers, educational counsellors, career counsellors, adult educators, other higher educators, other non-governmental organization staff, public servants, and policymakers.
- Supportive learning materials of the programme will be sent to the participants in advance.
- The training itself will not be built on lectures or presentations, but on searching effective solutions and inspiration for the participants' practice, discovering experiences of other countries and spending valuable time together.
- We make tailor-made programmes according to the organisation's needs if the whole group is from one organisation.
- Participation fee: 400 €. The amount includes preparation for the course, training, training materials, organizational costs, and cultural and social programme. Accommodation and meals are not included.
Learning objectives
Expected outcomes:
- Planning, carrying out, evaluation and analysis of the learning process using person-centred approach;
- Personal reflective practice and learning how to use it for fostering positive students' development;
- Choosing adequate methods, tools & ways for supporting the learning process;
- Communication skills in multicultural & multilingual context;
- A personal toolbox of methods that participants can use in their work with adult learners.
During the course the participants will:
- Learn and experience a person-centred approach;
- Practice tools and methods of a person-centred approach;
- Get access to numerous resources for providing a person-centred approach;
- Work with cases and solve problems in teams;
- Exchange good practices and discuss challenges with fellow colleagues and the course trainers.
Methodology & assessment
Assessment: participant's self-analysis, toolbox of methods to take back to the sending organisation, group reflection.
Certification details
Certificate of achievement the learning outcomes and Europass Mobility Certificate if required.
