Interactive Teaching and Learning on the Interactive Whiteboard 5-day (on request)
This practical and informative 5 day course has been designed with innovative classroom practitioners in mind. It will introduce you to Interactive Whiteboards if you are a first-time user and help you to improve your skills if you already have some experience with these exciting teaching tools.
Description
- Suitable for teachers (primary, secondary, higher education) and teacher trainers.
- Minimum language level: B1.
Our skilled Teacher Trainers at Alpha School will demonstrate how the ActivInspire Studio computer programme, along with Promethean Projectors, can be used to plan creative and interactive lessons for a modern and technology-savvy audience. You will have daily opportunities to use these tools yourself and you will work with others to create interesting and interactive activities. This course will really allow you to flex your creative muscles.
Alpha School’s Go IWB! course offers participants a useful forum where they will be given the opportunity to:
- Collaborate with peers of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds
- Learn how to use key features of an interactive white board
- Develop the skills for creating interesting lesson content on the IWB
- Share ideas with colleagues about how an IWB can be utilised in any curriculum area.
Learning objectives
- Aim to equip participants with comprehensive skills for using interactive whiteboards (IWBs) .
- Covering technical abilities such as using writing tools, manipulating text styles and colours, adding shapes, editing objects, and managing pages.
- Participants will also learn to insert and edit various media, create engaging multimedia presentations, and develop interactive activities.
- Collaboration, planning, and feedback are emphasised, along with the ability to assess and improve work.
The objectives also include selecting appropriate software, delivering presentations, and understanding the pros and cons of IWBs, ultimately preparing participants to use IWBs confidently in educational settings.
Methodology & assessment
You will be encouraged to take an active role in all sessions, maximising your use of English, and experiencing for yourself the activities your learners will be participating in. This course is designed to help you reflect on your approach to teaching today’s pupils.
Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
Teams folder with slides and course content are shared via Teams, enabling participants to access, contribute, and collaborate with peers, past and present, throughout the course.
Certification details
Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate, including their name, date of birth, course title, course dates, total sessions attended, and overall attendance record. This certificate recognises their participation and engagement.
