Description

As the educational landscape undergoes rapid changes, teachers must adapt to new technologies, methodologies, and approaches. This course aims to broaden the skill set of teachers beyond their subject matter expertise, helping them to navigate the changes brought about by the pandemic and remote learning.

The course is structured to foster mobility among teachers and staff members, thereby boosting their confidence and encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones. This approach is designed to enhance language skills, engage in new technologies, explore innovative teaching methods, and support overall professional development.

This course is a strategic initiative to bridge the current skill gaps, encourage adaptability in the face of changing educational demands, and enhance the overall quality of teaching and learning in our institution.

Learning objectives

The objectives of the course are:

• Equip teachers with a solid understanding of various digital tools, applications, and platforms, ensuring they are proficient in navigating and utilizing these technologies for educational purposes.

• Introduce and train teachers in cutting-edge teaching methodologies that leverage technology, apps, and social media, promoting creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among students.

• Guide teachers on effectively integrating technology into the curriculum, ensuring it complements and enhances traditional teaching methods rather than replacing them, thereby enriching the learning experience.

• Foster skills in creating engaging and interactive content that captures students' interest, and promote the use of social media and other digital platforms for collaboration among students and between students and teachers.

• Educate teachers on the ethical considerations, privacy issues, and safe use of digital tools and social media in the classroom, preparing them to guide students in becoming responsible digital citizens.

Methodology & assessment

The working methodology will be based on non-formal education and experiential learning, that incorporates principles that prioritize active participation, practical application, and reflection. Sessions will be designed to be interactive, encouraging participants to actively engage in discussions, share experiences, and participate in decision-making processes. Participants will have direct access to various digital tools, apps, and social media platforms, allowing for hands-on practice. This practical approach helps teachers learn by doing, ensuring they can effectively integrate these technologies into their teaching. Each day ends with a reflection session to discuss what was learned, share insights and express challenges encountered. We will be offering resources and suggesting pathways for teachers to explore specific areas of interest in more depth, allowing for personalized learning experiences tailored to their unique teaching contexts and professional development goals.

Certification details

The course provider will issue an attendance certificate which will include a description of the course content reflecting the learning acquired during the training, as well as its duration. This certificate will be provided in English, but also in our native language if requested, so it can be recognized as a useful certificate at a national level. The certificates will be given to the participants, at the end of the training. Europass mobility certificates will be also granted to the participants.
