In this project, primary school children will examine the topic of Heroes and will design an image inspired by stained glass windows. Examples of existing stained glass will be shared with the pupils. Pupils will choose their own hero. This may be a real person, a literary figure, an animal or a superhero, etc., allowing pupil choice for the final outcome and flexibility for the participating schools to integrate the project into their on-going classroom work. Pupils may work individually or in small groups and will share their project work with each other on Twinspace. This activity forms part of the Independent Study Project for the Modern Languages Baccalaureate for a senior pupil in the Scottish school.
