SOCIAL NEWS – AN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL E-MAGAZINE

We plan to create a monthly e-magazine entitles “Social news – an international school e-magazine” The pupils will be the “crew” of the school magazine, tackling the roles of junior journalists, reporters, photographers, painters, topic researchers, interviewers, ICT specialists etc. By covering such roles, the pupils will be engaged in social issues both at school and outside, by acting as “placemakers”. At a lower level they could tackle issues like: • One’s school (subjects, facilities, rules, etc.) • Learning to become good citizens • Anti-bullying attitudes/initiatives • Healthy nutrition (canteen, meals provided…) • Taking care of schoolmates, classrooms, labs, pets, objects, etc. At a higher level they could talk about of photograph and write captions about the place they live in regarding: • social places • youth centres • recycling centres, • eco-structure etc. Where possible the pupils will visit public places and arrange interviews with people working, or using them.
