EU CONVINCE – EU COmmon Values INClusive Education

The EU CONVINCE project (January 2018–January 2020) provided teachers, other education staff, school leaders and the education institution community as a whole with tools and methods to deliver inclusive quality education to all and better deal with citizenship-related issues in the classroom and in extra-curricular activities.
EU Convince

The role of education, and in particular of teachers, school leaders and educational staff, is crucial to promoting democratic citizenship and social inclusion in diverse educational contexts and learning environments. The EU CONVINCE project aimed to address societal challenges by promoting multiculturalism, diversity and social inclusion.

The project covered the following topics:

  • Civic education and democratic school culture,
  • Teaching in multicultural learning contexts for intercultural dialogue,
  • Teaching controversial and sensitive issues,
  • eSafety: misinformation, digital responsibility and critical thinking in online environments,
  • School leadership and whole-school approach,
  • Inclusive education as a tool to prevent violent radicalisation and extremism.

The project outputs include a compendium of examples and good practices from Member States (Research report, annex 4) and an online course on Citizenship and Human Rights Education for Change (in English and French).

The project was a run by ETUCE (European Trade Union Committee for Education), EFEE (European Federation of Education Employers) and ESHA (European School Heads Association).
