
GAME BASED LEARNING AND GAMIFICATION 5 DAYS IN SANTORINI
This course is aimed at teachers and all those who want to learn how to play more in their lessons and create more engaging units for their learners. The course will focus on theoretical input on gamification and approaches to introduce more game-based learning in different countries and across school subjects. OID number for Greece: E10049405.
Description
The course consists of 25 didactic hours and includes the following modules:
- Introduction of participants, warm ups and ice breakers, outline of the programme
- Introduction to gamification, educational practices and strategies of game-based learning
- Game thinking, games and play, drama and theatre games
- Digital games and gamified tools
- Motivation techniques (intrinsic and extrinsic), competitive and collaborative games
- Online tools for collaboration in educational game-based projects, eTwinning, European School Education Platform
- Individual support
- Presentation of outcomes, discussion, evaluation and closing session
There is also an organized island tour with a bus and a licenced tour guide to discover the cultural significance and natural beauties of Santorini and network with colleagues.
Learning objectives
- Understanding of the concept and strategies for implementation of game-based learning and gamification.
- Developing communication, collaboration, presentation, problem solving, negotiation, critical and creative thinking skills.
- Enhancing professional skills through mastering handpicked selection of versatile types of games for teambuilding, building of trust, content consolidation and revision, exploration and development of creativity.
- Understanding the mechanics of the games and development of the ability to gamify the contents of the curricula in order to make the learners experience of education more engaging.
- Providing and exercising creative ideas and practical resources for successful implementation and responsible use of game-based learning.
- Improving English fluency (official language of the course).
- Promoting intercultural awareness.
- Sharing experiences of school project work and use of GBL in education from different organizations

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
All the materials will be made available to the participants in digital form upon completion of the course.
Certification details
Certificate complies with the guidelines of the Erasmus+ programme and includes the topic, number of didactic hours, dates and location of the course. We can list the record of learning outcomes on the Europass Mobility Document on request of participants. In case. A participant requires a specific format of certificate we can accommodate that if requested at least one week before the start of the course. It is necessary to attend at least 80% of the hours in order to receive the certificate.

Course package content:
The course fee includes tuition and materials for the course and all administrative work. There is also one cultural activity for networking and socialising covered by the course fee.
Accommodation, meals and transportation are not included and participants are expected to organize and cover for these expenses by themselves.
We do not charge anything extra apart from the 400 EUR course fee.

Cancellation & changes:
Free cancellation up to 30 days before the start. After that, the reservation is not refundable. Changes in name and profile of the participant are possible any time before the start of the course. In case of extraordinary circumstances, we will offer a free re-scheduling to be used within 6 months.
