This Erasmus+ course on Game-Based Learning (GBL) and Gamification focuses on using games to enhance educational quality and foster critical 21st-century skills like multitasking, problem-solving, and risk-taking. Over five or seven days, participants will learn to incorporate GBL strategies into their teaching, utilize open educational resources (OER), and create engaging lessons. The course includes modules on educational practices across Europe, using games to support learning, and integrating mobile devices and coding into lessons. Hands-on activities, team games, and real-world applications provide practical skills in promoting creative and critical thinking. Participants will also explore outdoor games for active learning, digital storytelling, and using QR codes and online simulations. By the end of the course, educators will have a comprehensive understanding of GBL’s potential to enhance education, reduce low achievement, and promote intercultural collaboration. Participants will also have opportunities to network with educators from across Europe.

Methodology & assessment


The course methodology combines theoretical and practical approaches to Game-Based Learning (GBL). It integrates existing knowledge with hands-on, collaborative activities in an international setting. Participants will engage in case studies, discussions, teamwork, and team games. Practical skills will be demonstrated and practiced, enabling educators to apply GBL strategies in real classroom settings.

The course utilizes a variety of materials and digital tools to support learning. These include:

  • Open Educational Resources (OER) for lesson planning and teaching.
  • Mobile devices for interactive learning and supporting GBL activities.
  • Online simulation games, QR codes, and coding tools for enhancing digital literacy.
  • Digital storytelling tools for creative expression and student engagement.
  • Collaborative platforms for team games and sharing ideas.
  • Case studies, research articles, and resources on GBL

Certification details

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a diploma that includes the course title and project number, along with the signature and stamp of the organizing institution. Additionally, a Europass Mobility document will be provided to record the learning experience and skills gained during the course. A Learning Agreement will also be issued to outline the course objectives, activities, and expected outcomes.al agreement.
