LEVITATION BOX

1. Necessary materials:

-        a square cardbox (with the diagonal - 50 cm)

-        scissors, knife

-        a simple piece of mirror that fits into, from diagonal corners

-        polygynaxne

2.How it’s made?

-        we sketch the lines that cover the mirror borders

-        next cut two doors in the front of the box, respecting the drawn lines

-        now place the mirror diagonally with the face directed toward the doors

-        in  front of the mirror we place tiny pieces of  polystyrene and we close the doors

When we make the presentation, the box will stay onto a high surface (table or platform) and the audience in front of it.

Opening the top of the box you step into it. Once inside you open two flaps on the front so the spectators can clearly see your feet inside. You start to concentrate and slowly both your feet can be seen to rise off the floor of the box. You rise up to about 7 - 9 inches then slowly return to the ground.

You close the front flaps step out of the box and take your applause!

3. Scientific explanation:

A foot is behind the mirror whereas the otherone is in front. The public can see just the toward foot aswell its imagine. The front foot reflected in the mirror, so from the public it sees two feet. The physical phenomen that is the base of this magic is Light Reflection. If we support ourselves on the behind foot, we lift slowly the otherone to show to the public that we are levitating.
