According to Amalipe (meaning friendship in Romanes) integrating the Roma will make Bulgaria a more developed country and increase the strength of its economy. It will help better the lives of all ethnicities and people of all ethnicities should participate in this process. Therefore, Amalipe unites the efforts of Roma, Bulgarians, Turks, and others guided by the values of inter-ethnic dialogue and tolerance.

The organisation is currently working on over 10 projects in the fields of education, healthcare, provision of social services, and support. It works with a network of nearly 300 schools across the country to reduce the school dropout rate, introduce intercultural education, promote lifelong learning in the Roma community, and raise the educational status of the Roma.

An essential part of this work is empowering Roma parents to actively participate in school life and turning the school into a community centre. The organisation has established 11 Community Development Centres in the six regions of Bulgaria to promote the self-organisation of the Roma community. Each of these centres works with a network of local community groups.
