Learning objectives

 

In this course, you will:

  • Get a good understanding of inclusive education and its principles and values by studying relevant case studies and engaging in discussions with peers and experts in the field.
  • Discover strategies for supporting student learning through parent-teacher partnerships by exploring examples of successful partnerships, analyzing communication strategies, and brainstorming effective methods for involving parents in their child's learning.
  • Discuss ways of promoting positive relationships between parents and teachers in support of inclusive education by examining common barriers to collaboration, reflecting on ways to build effective communication skills, and develop conflict resolution strategies.
  • Design an action plan for building and maintaining effective parent-teacher partnerships in support of inclusive education by setting clear goals and objectives, identifying specific steps for implementation, and evaluating progress and outcomes on a regular basis.

Methodology & assessment

The course is offered as an asynchronous course with flexibility in regard to when and where participants follow the course content and join the course activities. Modules open each week and remain open for the duration of the course, with a final deadline in place for the submission of a course product. Participants are required to actively contribute to the course activities by sharing their work and submitting a course product. This product is submitted, and peer assessed by three peers in the final module of the course.

Certification details

 

Upon successful completion of the course, a digital course certificate is awarded. The certificate shows the name of the learner and key course details such as the estimated learning hours, the learning objectives, and a link to the course homepage.
