Description

The Teaching in the Age of AI course takes place in ATC Language Schools, Ireland, and explores the role of technology, digital tools, and AI in language teaching and learning. The aim of the course is to equip language teachers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to integrate AI effectively into their lessons.

Participants consider the role of this cutting-edge technology and identify the benefits and challenges of incorporating AI into language instruction. They explore how AI tools might be used to create teaching resources and learning materials; to adapt and supplement more traditional resources and reduce planning time; to incorporate dynamic and interactive elements to their lessons for increased student engagement. Methodology & assessment

The course is run over one week and consists of 20 hours of onsite training with course trainers plus 10 hours of trainer-directed project work. Participants are given feedback on their project work by the course trainers. In addition, participants plan, develop and teach a lesson using AI, which they present to their colleagues on their final day, receiving both peer- and trainer feedback on their plans and materials.
