- The course comprises:
- English Language Training
- A variety of stimulating language activities to enhance participants’ skills in communicating in English:
- general English (listening & speaking skills, pronunciation & intonation, grammar review, vocabulary)
- new developments in the English Language
- classroom language
- educational terminology
- English for interschool communication by telephone or email (re Erasmus+ projects, school exchanges and links, etc.)
- English for conferences, meetings, presentations
- Lecture and discussion on the Irish Education System
- Visit to a primary or secondary school (term-time courses only)
- Lecture on Irish History, Culture and Traditions
- Cultural Visit to Wicklow Mountains National Park and Glendalough
- A guided walking tour of Dublin and cultural visits to National Museum
- Learning time: 25+ hours per week

The course aims to provide teachers of all subjects, headteachers and others working in the field of education with:
- an opportunity to improve their English Language Skills
- an insight into primary or secondary education in Ireland

Methodology & assessment
- Courses are delivered by experienced teachers of English as a Foreign Language (native speakers)
- There will be a variety of stimulating language activities to enhance participants’ skills in communicating in English
- Feedback and guidance from trainers
- At the end of the course teachers participate in a detailed evaluation of the course

Certification details
- A certificate of attendance (stating course title, location, dates, content, learning outcomes and number of hours) will be provided as required by the Quality standards for courses under Key Action 1
