eTwinning Prizes 2023 – Innovation and Education

Let’s celebrate the most innovative projects of the last three years.
eTwinning Prizes 2023

The annual theme of eTwinning in 2023 is ‘Innovation and Education - Being Creative with eTwinning. Innovation is no stranger to eTwinning, in fact, it’s a quintessential element. eTwinning has been exploring innovation and creativity in relation to education since its launch in 2005.

Over the last three years, the years that were the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw your creativity exploding. Adapting to exceedingly difficult circumstances made innovation bloom in the minds of our dear eTwinners.
That is why this year, eTwinning wants to further recognise and give visibility to the winners of the last three years.

An international jury, in collaboration with the eTwinning Central Support Service and the European Commission, will single out the four most innovative winning projects since 2020.

All of the prize winners from 2020–2022 will be considered preselected for this year’s special edition of prizes. In line with the annual theme of Innovation and Education, the jury will judge projects based on how innovative they are.
Specifically, the projects that have already been shortlisted for this special edition are:

2020

2021

2022

The process will take place during the course of 2023 and the winners will be announced at the beginning of the school year in September.

How will the projects be judged? An international jury composed of one member per NSO will select, two out of the three projects that got a winning prize in 2020, 2021 and 2022 for each age category, for a total of eight projects (the ‘shortlist’). The eTwinning Prize 2023 for IVET will be assigned automatically to the 2022 prize winner (as it was a newly introduced category). The selection is based on the innovative elements of the project.

Then, a European jury composed of members of the European Commission and CSS will identify the winner of the special edition from those in the short list.

The winners from each of the five winning projects will be invited to two onsite events that will take place in autumn 2023. Secondary, upper-secondary, and IVET winners will attend an onsite event in Bratislava, Slovakia in September 2023. Pre-primary and primary winners will attend an event in November in Madrid, Spain.

During the two events, there will be a special prize ceremony, where the teachers will be granted a plaque and will be invited to run a workshop related to their project.

Stay tuned and find out with us which will be named the most innovative eTwinning projects of the last 3 years!

Please Note: Projects that ran in the 2021–2022 and 2022–2023 school year will be eligible to apply for the 2024 prize application period.
