Dr Nikolaos Mouratoglou, pedagogical and monitoring coordinator at the eTwinning Central Support Service, opened the first day of the event with a welcome address based on the results of the 2022 eTwinning monitoring report.

Lucía García Contreras and Christian Kiefer, European Commission representatives, introduced the event’s primary focus, ‘Blended Learning Mobilities’, illustrating how Erasmus+ and eTwinning are naturally complementing each other.

Sara Ciet, chief development officer at Uniser, delivered the first keynote session, focusing on the added value of blended learning mobility for learners, staff, and institutions. In addition, she provided participants with techniques and ideas through concrete examples from the Erasmus Learner Journey.

Subsequently, Hubert Winkler, an experienced IVET teacher, discussed strategies for incorporating eTwinning into Erasmus projects. He outlined the potential for creating sustainable projects, and shared tips and tricks on how to create effective applications.

The first day ended with a networking session during which participants had the opportunity to interact with their peers by exchanging project ideas that could be used in blended learning activities.

During a panel discussion on the second day, guest speakers shared their perspectives on integrating blended learning mobility in their eTwinning projects, inspiring participants to do the same in their own future projects.

The workshop sessions were next on the agenda, and they included presentations on several Erasmus+ projects. Speakers focused on a variety of topics, including internationalisation, intercultural competency, foreign languages, biotechnology and sustainable practices among students and schools.

On the third day of the event, Koen Bois d’Enghien, European Commission policy officer, presented the European Quality Assurance Reference Framework for Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET). Thanks to this discussion, participants became familiar with a European tool that can guide their work and promote quality at course provider level.

The most important takeaways from the workshop were the focus on partner finding and networking, and the benefits of integrating Erasmus+ and eTwinning in order to design meaningful blended learning mobilities.
