Model United Nations

This project is a support for the ERASMUS+ project Model United Nations. United Nations are played by students as a simulation, and usually takes place in the form of conferences. MUN conferences are usually held in English; but there are conferences in different languages such as Turkish, German and French, where committees are opened. The tasks such as the organization of the conference, the formation of the committees, the preparation of the working papers that form the main lines of the committee are also performed by the students of the host school. MUN conferences are an event that can change your perspective. MUN is a conference where you can solve seemingly complex problems with your committee mates you met 10 minutes ago, overcome your fear of public speaking, get to know people very different from yourself, improve your English and enjoy everything. The MUN conference, which has an international meaning, creates a common platform for students. Everyone is free to express their thoughts at these conferences. Solution proposals are presented at conferences for current problems in the world. In the platform where solutions and current problems are expressed, students have the opportunity to express themselves. Students from different countries express the problems and solutions in their own countries. It is also of great importance for the history of humanity to report all these issues discussed at the United Nations. MUN conferences, which provide many benefits that we have mentioned as gains, are organized internationally and locally. However, children of families with a certain income level can participate in MUN conferences, especially in international environments. Children of families whose income level is not sufficient to attend these conferences are deprived of MUN opportunities. At this point, a problem of inequality of opportunity in education arises. Our project is a project to create an opportunity for students who cannot participate in these conferences economically and therefore cannot benefit from the contributions of these conferences in order to eliminate this inequality of opportunity to some extent. When the European Union education standards are examined, it is one of the priority issues to create equality of opportunity in education within the union. As a result, our project is important in order to create equal opportunities in education in European Union.
