The 2nd Primary school of Peania is a public school. We are located in Peania, a small town near Athens, the capital of Greece. Peania is located near the International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos and is built at the foot of Mount Hymettus. Here was born the ancient orator Demosthenes. It has a magnificent cave with stalactites and stalagmites. Very close is Sounio and the ancient temple of Poseidon. Our school provides care for about 300 children, aged 6-12 years. Most of children have parents of Greek origin. There are also children of Albanian and other origins. We have 24 primary teachers and 8 special educators. Our school has a large yard and in recent years we

have established the outdoor class. The climate of the country, which is Mediterranean, also helps in this. The main areas of our teaching are science and mathematics, sustainable development, children's language and social skills and the use of digital equipment for children aged 6-12 years. Our main concern is the further development of our teachers' ability to acquire new learning strategies through educational seminars and programs. They are all trained teachers with long experience and a different kind of continuing education in the various subjects of the project.
