Raising the profile of intellectual property in education

Innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship in Europe are powered and supported by intellectual property (IP) laws, affecting the worlds of arts, gastronomy, fashion, technology, sport and much more. Trademarks, designs, patents and copyright, as well as geographical indications and other IP rights, help individuals and businesses develop, grow and share their ideas, creations and products.
The IP in Education project aimed to bring intellectual property rights closer to classrooms by enhancing the creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship of young Europeans. The project’s free materials are available under Ideas Powered@School:
- IP teaching materials: ideas, ready-to-use activities and games to do with their pupils for teachers of all subjects and all age groups.
- IP awareness day: guidance to organise an event for the whole school community to raise awareness of IP and respect for the creations of others.
- Teacher training materials: flexible and adaptable in different circumstances, including e.g. a booklet on IP basics for teachers.
