Short-term joint staff training events in Koszalin, Poland

The aim of the short-term joint staff training event was to share ideas of teachers of different subjects to create new innovative, cross-curricular lesson plans and methodologies. The main idea was to make lessons dealing with the topic of technology during WWII more appealing for students. Each country appointed  Economic and Maths expert teachers who cooperated on the tasks during the assigned week.The interdisciplinary teaching provides students with educational experiences that are more authentic and of greater. The teachers focused on differences between economic situation of European countries before and after WWII. Our aim was to help students to understand the level of economy of European countries before WWII, harm the war did to the economy and the economic boom and social transformation of post-war Europe. The lesson plans and methodologies will be piloted during open lessons. 
During the first day the expert teachers met the vice principal of the school. Then they had an opportunity to meet the participating teachers from Koszalin and the school and its programmes were introduced. Then an expert teacher and coordinator meeting was held where the goals and aims were discussed. The next day the expert teachers visited the museum of WII in Gdaňsk and the concentration camp in Stutthof where they created worksheets and they were piloted by the students. On Wednesday the expert teachers worked on the lesson plans where they were creating a lesson plan on the economic sition before the WWI, one about the crisis during the WWII and one about the economic consequences after the war. On Thursday the visited the bunkers in Utska where they met the expert on the WWII who presented the history of the bunkers and the teachers create a worksheet about this place. On Friday the lesson plans were presented and the teachers agreed on the deadline for their piloting. Slovak teachers prepared a history book hunting competition and the expert teachers will start a competition at their school so that all the students will be able to particiates. During the course of the visit the expert teachers met for evaluations, improvements and they discussed their ideas. All the outcomes will be integrated in the curriculums of the participating schools.
