GROWTH MINDSET - LESSONS FROM POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY 5 DAYS
This course is aimed at teachers and all those who are interested in the application of fundamental aspects of positive psychology in their work environments and in their daily life. They will learn the tools to enhance their own resilience, recognise their character strengths, recommended approach and activities to support the development of growth mindset - of themselves and their students.
Description
The course consists of 25 didactic hours and includes the following modules:
- Introduction of participants, warm ups and ice breakers, outline of the programme
- Basic human needs and their relationship with life satisfaction, motivation, mindset and school engagement of our students
- Growth vs. fixed mindset – mindsets as powerful predictors of student outcomes
- Growth mindset – how to recognize and foster the right set of attitudes and beliefs of our own abilities to achieve the full potential in life
- Character strengths – recognizing individual strenghts and establishing a foundation in goal-setting and planning.
- Resilience – process of being able to adapt well times of stress; exercises to develop and foster resilience; classroom strategies and activities to support students to face their life challenges with more resilience
- Positive relationships and classroom strategies – important part of a student’s emotional and social development.
Learning objectives
- Recognizing the importance of mental health as a prerequisite for academic achievement.
- Developing skills to recognize fixed and growth mindsets and their ramifications in any individual’s lives – their own and their students’
- Developing skills to recognize the mindsets of other people which will make our students less susceptible to the negative effects of criticism, judgement and viewpoints of others
- Acquiring attitudes, skills and methods to foster growth mindset development within their students and within themselves
- Developing communication skills to foster resilience and teach students to develop assertiveness
- Encouraging our students to face life challenges with more resilience and have a higher level of motivation thanks to mindset shift and new skills acquired.
- Recognizing negative effects of beliefs on youth motivation and their goal-directed behavior – understanding how beliefs prevents teens to achieve their full potential in life.

All the materials will be made available to the participants in digital form upon completion of the course.
Certification details
Certificate includes the topic, dates and location of the course. We can list the record of learning outcomes on the Europass Mobility Document on request of participants.

Course package content:
The course fee includes tution and materials for the course. Accommodation, meals and transportation are not included and participants are expected to organize and cover for these expenses by themselves. We do not charge anything extra apart from the 400 EUR course fee.

Cancellation & changes:
Free cancellation up to 30 days before the start. After that, the reservation is not refundable. Changes in name and profile of the participant are possible any time before the start of the course.
