In today's educational landscape, the well-being of Early Career Teachers (ECTs) stands as a paramount concern for educational leaders. As the foundational pillars of our educational institutions, these novice educators face a unique set of challenges as they navigate the complexities of the profession. Recognising the pivotal role that headteachers play in shaping the experiences of ECTs, this course aims to delve into strategies and approaches aimed at fostering a supportive environment conducive to the flourishing of both the individual teacher and the broader school community.
This course will empower you to develop your own unique approach to ensuring the well-being of ECTs in your school by fostering acquisition of both theoretical understanding and practical competence. You will be encouraged to create personalised action plan(s) tailored to your individual situations and schools. These plans will be informed by evidence-based information on ECTs’ characteristics, the concept of well-being for teachers in schools and a trilateral conceptual approach aimed at supporting the well-being of ECTs in educational settings.
