Description

The school, as an organisation, is a complex social system and in 21st century it is important to make process as simple as possible. Those systems vary from country’s national educational system, requirements, its capacity, traditions, etc. However, all schools have one main goal and converts resources made available to it into such outcomes as students’ development and achievement. To succeed in this it therefore needs to be managed effectively. Such role takes over educational leaders with all schools team (administration, teachers, other staff) and all members of school are crucial in reaching common goals.   Strategic management is one of key elements for successful schools nowadays and it helps them to keep up with changes and current trends. This course engage all participants to analyse and actively respond to the requirements that are set nationally and internationally, such as EU recommendation to all schools to adopt the European Development Plan, which requires building a systemic approach of organisation development and mechanisms for identifying priority areas for the coming years.   This course is dedicated to school leaders and its team members and designed to demonstrate, analyse tools for creating clear vision of the role of all elements of the organisation from single person to strategy of whole school. Practical exercises will provide participants possibility to learn methods in creation “whole school approach”, share good practices of Human Resource Management, learn effective strategic planning, increase knowledge how to establish effective cooperation with parents, etc. In all, participants will be empowered to organize their own quality system.   The daily programme can be found here

Learning objectives

The specific objectives are:

Methodology & assessment

The methodology of the training course includes a learner-centred approach and a focus on enhancing continuous personal development. The aim of the training is not to produce ready-made solutions (passive learning), but to inspire the participants to search creatively for knowledge and effective solutions, which are connected to their needs and challenges (active learning). In this way, the participants take responsibility for their own learning process and act as active partners in the training.

Attention will be given to how to implement the findings and skills in real daily working situations after the training course. Methods such as debate, pair and group work, and individual practical exercises will be used throughout the course.

Assessment of the course combines formal and non-formal assessment methods such as self-evaluation at the end of the course and formal evaluation forms provided by the organisation.
