Prioritising the professionalisation of early childhood education and care staff

This thematic paper studies and offers recommendations on how to further improve early childhood education and care (ECEC) services.
Publication cover: thematic paper

Early childhood education and care are essential aspects to a child’s development, therefore quality ECEC services need to be further promoted and nurtured.

It is crucial to have high quality and trained staff in ECEC services, consequently, it is important to create a minimum standard of education and qualifications for ECEC professionals and to promote diversity among its staff. Another way to support the professionality of ECEC workers is by increasing investments and highlighting their societal value.
