Water Friendships

The world's water resources are rapidly depleting and this poses a serious threat to all living things. Due to reasons such as increasing population, industrialization, improper water management and global warming, the quantity and quality of freshwater resources are decreasing. Water waste, environmental pollution and unconscious water consumption endanger future generations' access to clean water. The seas are one of the most important parts of the world's ecosystem and play a vital role for both human life and other living things. However, in recent years, the negative effects of human activities have threatened our seas. Factors such as plastic pollution, chemical waste, overfishing, climate change and coastal construction cause irreversible damage to marine ecosystems. Marine pollution not only endangers the lives of marine creatures, but also negatively affects human health and economic activities. Sectors such as fishing, tourism and maritime transportation are directly affected by these environmental problems. In addition, pollution of the seas further exacerbates climate change by reducing the carbon absorption capacity of the oceans. It is of great importance to raise awareness, especially among young generations, about the protection and sustainable use of the seas. However, many people do not sufficiently realize the role of the seas in the ecosystem and the threats they face. This project aims to teach students the importance of protecting the seas, to enable them to discover the causes and consequences of marine pollution, and to provide a creative process for developing environmentally friendly solutions. By increasing the awareness of responsibility in protecting our seas, it is aimed to raise individuals for a more sustainable world in the future.
