Multiculturalism ​Erasmus+ Course

Teacher’s role in the integration process of immigrant children, emotional distress and psychological needs during the integration. Multicultural education improves the learning and success of all students by taking their diversity into account, helps actively establish and sustain a multicultural atmosphere in a class, implement new activities to support immigrant children and raises awareness.

DAY 1: WHO IS HERE AND WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM EACH OTHER? 

  • Introductory meeting, practical arrangements and timetable participations
  • Multi-cultural experiences and good practices in the field of integration of immigrant children into educational system

  • Experiential workshop

    DAY 2 - DAY 4: TRAINING TOPICS
  • Emotional and psychological challenges of immigrant children
  • Support strategies for children and families
  • “Successful Integration of Immigrant Children” programme
  • Study visit to a Slovenian school
  • Guidelines for integration
  • Inclusive pedagogy
  • Practical tools and exercises

DAY 5 - STUDY VISIT 

  • Exploring core activity domains and specialised educational approaches with teachers from the school, classroom observation

Learning objectives

1.) Knowledge and skills for creating a multi-cultural environment in their organisations

2.) Understanding different cultures, changing the stereotypes and encouraging multi-cultural educational environment.

3.) Programme for a successful integration of immigrant children into the school system.

4.) Present and exchange good practices of successful intercultural approaches.

Methodology & assessment

1.) Mentorship between the participants and the trainer.
2.) Discussions, interactive games, working in groups and pairs, presentations, case studies, thinking techniques and individual activities.
3.) Experiential learning and workshop approach.
4.) Workbook with sessions' summaries and descriptions of activities used.

    Course fee:

    • €400 – confirmed at least 16 weeks in advance
      €450 – confirmed 8 to 15 weeks in advance
      €490 – confirmed less than 8 weeks in advance

       

    Course fee includes:

    • 5 days of workshop (6 pedagogical hours per day): training on the topic, peer exchange and networking, one study visit,
    • training materials,
    • coffee breaks,
    • one afternoon cultural excursion,
    • organisation and administrative costs.
