
Intensive General English Language
Improve your English language skills with this practical and focused course which is available at 5 levels from A2 to C1. Develop understanding, fluency and core communication skills, building the confidence you need to use English effectively in your work. This course is delivered by Atlantic Centre of Education in Galway in the west of Ireland.
Description
The Intensive General English Language course gives participants the opportunity to develop all the language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking - with intensive immersion in dynamic international classes. The course is delivered by a specialist ESL teaching team with a strong focus on interactive and communicative methodology, essential for productive learning. Morning classes are dedicated to improving grammar knowledge and usage, Classes are available at 5 levels, from A2 to C1, and levels are assessed through a pre-arrival level-placement test to ensure each participant is placed in the most suitable class.

Learning objectives
Grammar – learn key structures appropriate to your needs and level
New vocabulary introduced and practised at every stage of the lesson
Focus on speaking in all classes – students are encouraged to speak and practise new structures and vocabulary to improve accuracy and pronunciation
Teachers provide regular error correction for continuous improvement
Fluency activities including role-plays, discussions and presentations
Interesting, topical listening and reading activities from a range of sources.
Focus on social and intercultural English required for all sorts of day-to-day interactions

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
Trainers use a blend of textual and digital resources, taking full advantage of the smart board technology with which all Atlantic Centre classrooms are equipped. Visual aids, including video, film, photography as well as audio recordings, are combined with traditional textual materials drawn from textbooks, journalism, blog posts etc. Many courses utilise the ed-tech tools which participants can adapt to enhance their own teaching practices. Access to integrated E-learning platform.
Certification details
Participants are awarded a signed Course Certificate in line with Erasmus Quality Standards showing the course name, the participant’s name, the course location, course dates and course duration.

Course package content:
The course fee includes 5 days of tuition,1 full-day excursion to a local area of cultural or heritage value, a guided historical walking tour of Galway city, and afternoon social and cultural activities.
Accommodation, meals and transport costs are not included.
