Erasmus Diary(day 1: Tuesday, 9th of October 2022)

Tuesday was the first day we visited the Greek partner school (1st Gymnasium of Volos). The students of all our partner countries introduced themselves, and we played a game to learn more about each other. It was really cool and funny.
After this meeting we had a break where we attended class. This was very interesting and different from our lessons in Germany.
After the class, project work was on the plan. We all were divided into groups; in every group there were students from all participating countries, and we all worked together very well. We watched a movie about the mythology of the region Volos. It was about Jason and the Argonauts who had the task to go to a far country named Kolchis and to bring back the Golden fleece. We learned that this was very dangerous and risky. We also played games on the movie and its mythology because the myth about Jason and the Argonauts is very important for Volos (Volos is the modern name for the ancient town Iolkos, home of Jason and the Golden Fleece). It is also very important for our project meeting: We will create a board game based on this myth.
Then we had an hour for lunch. All students ate at home with the partners or in the city centre.
At 16 o’clock the whole Erasmus group met at the university of Volos to do a guided walk through the city. We learn more about the history of Volos and about important places. We also saw the "Argo", Jason's ship! Only a reconstruction, of course. But it been at the Black See and had sailed in Georgia - the ancient Kolchis. It had returned only some days ago: just in time for our Erasmus meeting :) Round about 8pm the city walk was done.
And the students had free time.
This was our first day in Volos.
