Analysis of Initial Questionnaire Results for Parents in the BEE MY FRIEND Project
In February, a questionnaire was administered to the parents of students participating in the BEE MY FRIEND project. Out of more than 400 students, 193 parents responded. Here are the key findings:
- Awareness of eTwinning:
- 70% of the parents were aware of eTwinning and its objectives.
- 30% were not familiar with eTwinning.
- Previous Participation in eTwinning Projects:
- 70% of the parents had already participated in eTwinning projects that involved their child's school.
- Technology Use in Education:
- On a scale from 0 (minimum) to 5 (maximum), 50% of the parents rated the use of technology in their child's education as a 5.
- 30% gave a rating of 4.
- 20% rated it as 3.
- Interest in Active Participation:
- 90% of the parents expressed interest in actively participating in this eTwinning project with their child.
- They believed that participation in eTwinning projects would enrich their children's experiences.
- Importance of Environmental Education:
- 100% of the parents considered environmental sustainability education to be essential.
- Perceived Benefits for Children:
- Social skills: 10%
- Active involvement: 10%
- A significant experience: 20%
- Ecological awareness: 1%
- Environmental awareness: 1%
- Scientific skills: 40%
The questionnaire reveals a high level of awareness and previous engagement with eTwinning projects among parents, along with strong support for the use of technology in education. Parents are keen to participate in the BEE MY FRIEND project, highlighting its potential to significantly enhance their children's educational experience, particularly in developing scientific skills. The unanimous agreement on the necessity of environmental education underscores the relevance and timeliness of the project's goals.
