- Rapid climate changes transforms our ecosystem and our lives on an extraordinary scale. Global warming may seem inevitable, but there is still time to make an impact on the mindsets of the younger generation, which is why we must take action into our own hands and learn how to educate others about sustainable living.
- This course is aimed at teachers and staff who want to develop in the area of environmental and eco-friendly education. During the course, you will become aware of the climate issues the world is facing and learn how to implement principles of sustainable development into your teaching . Since the course is taking place in the beautiful Mediterranean city of Split, you will experience the importance of biodiversity firsthand and enjoy the many natural beauties of our city.
- You will learn outdoors and exchange your experiences with colleagues from all over Europe bathed in sunshine, while walking by the sea or sitting in the shades of trees. The course will cover several topics concerning waste management with a focus on eco-friendly lifestyles. Lessons will be split into theoretical and engaging practical parts. At the end of the course, you will be able to incorporate environmental studies into your curriculum and shape young minds into future environmentalists!

Learning objectives
- Understand the key concepts of sustainability, including its relevance to environmental and social issues, as well as its impact on climate change mitigation
- Identify and articulate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their importance in addressing global challenges
- Gain knowledge and tools to design and implement eco-friendly initiatives in your organization, fostering sustainability and environmental protection while addressing eco-anxiety concerns
- Have a comprehensive understanding of aquatic ecosystems, including rivers and coastal areas. Identify through practical activities key components of these ecosystems, such as flora and fauna, and understand their roles in maintaining ecological balance
- Gain practical skills in conservation, including water quality testing, habitat assessment, and identification of native species.
- be able to critically analyze video clips, engage in brainstorming sessions, and participate in discussions to evaluate sustainability-related topics effectively and to integrate student thinking about the climate crisis into classroom activities
- Learn how to organize debates and projects about environmental sustainability

Continuous assessment - continuous observation of participant’s activity
Evaluation criteria:
Preparation, level of engagement in class, listening, questioning and discussing, problem-solving, group/partner teamwork
Evaluation procedures:
The evaluation will take place in the hosting organization and will be conducted
by teacher trainers at the end of the course
Recognition conditions:
At least 80% course attendance
