BG - Shearwaters - Bulgarian team gets aware
Shearwaters call for help
Shearwaters are migratory birds that prefer warm climate. For this reason, they annually fly from the North Atlantic to the southern points of Argentina and South Africa to lay their eggs during the souther hemisphere summer and return in the norther hemisphere summer.
As we learnt from our Portuguese partners, they are significantly disrupted my the artificial lights on the Azore Islands where they stop to rest on their 10 000 km journey.
To raise the awareness of all students attending our school, PPMG "Akad. Ivan Tsenov", including the visitors to the school, we translated the Power Point, otcome from the Pirtuguese team's group work on the problem. The ppt was then put on display in the school hallway and presented to the 5th-grade students.
