French sociologist and political theorist Alexis de Tocqueville’s focus was liberty, saying “the only passions I have are love of liberty and human dignity.” According to him, the goals of social democracy has to liberate individuals from constraints such as malnutrition, illnesses, illiteracy or social inequality which prevent them from achieving their potential. The project has its roots in 4 new strategic agenda priorities set by the European Council. Starting from the 17 sustainable development goals of the UN agenda for 2030, we will address Equality, democracy, freedom, social justice and Human rights issues.
