Media Literacy

It is claimed that the media has positive and negative effects on children's physical, cognitive and social development. On the other hand, it is obvious that media messages have their own unique structure, language and practices and that they are constantly changing and developing. In order for individuals to use these channels more efficiently and to raise awareness about some risks they may be exposed to while doing this, they need to have knowledge of media messages and methods. Therefore, this situation reveals the importance of children's education on media and that the education to be given should be constantly updated.
