Let’s debate in English and share ideas on current issues that concern us all and the English teaching curriculum. From global issues, European or national news, debating will help our students apprehend different realities by sharing their history, laws, lifestyles and confronting their points of views so as to better understand what is at stake and open their minds. The “for and against” format will allow students to exchange more as it will encourage them to adopt a point of view that is not necessarily theirs. The topics we have in mind could be the school systems, the gun issue in the USA, death penalty, abortion, child labour, uni-sex marriages, harassment, poaching, fake news, CCTV/ facial recognition in public places, gender equality, etc.
