Description

In the fourth course of the course series on Unlocking the Power of Teacher Digital Competence, we focus on ways to empower learners. Using digital technologies can help teachers to create innovative learning experiences, resulting in learners becoming more actively engaged. Digital technologies can be used by teachers to personalise learning and tailor it according to individual learners’ levels, interests and needs. However, it is important to avoid amplifying inequality, for example in terms of learner access to technology or lack of skills. Accessibility for all learners is crucial, including those with special educational needs.

Learning objectives

As a participant, you will:
  • Select and employ digital technologies in your learning design, to develop inclusive learning activities and accessible resources according to your students’ needs and capabilities,
  • Select and employ digital technologies in your learning designs based on their features, to develop personalised learning environments,
  • Select and employ digital technologies in your learning designs to foster students’ active engagement in individual and collaborative learning,
  • Analyse digital technologies based on their features and employ them in your learning designs to support distance and blended learning.

Methodology & assessment

The course is offered as an asynchronous course with flexibility in regard to when and where participants follow the course content and join the course activities. Modules open each week and remain open for the duration of the course, with a final deadline in place for the submission of a course product. Participants are required to actively contribute to the course activities by sharing their work and submitting a course product. This product is submitted, and peer assessed by three peers in the final module of the course.
