Description

  • Practical Methodology Workshops on Teaching English as a Foreign Language at Primary Level conducted by expert teacher trainers with many years of experience in training European teachers of English and a wealth of exciting ideas to impart.
  • Emphasis will be on motivating pupils through a variety of child-centred activities which engage their imaginations and creativity.
  • Different approaches to Primary Language Teaching will be discussed.
  • Plenty of practical ideas will be demonstrated and considered and teachers will be encouraged to participate.
  • Many aspects will be covered including:
  • Developing listening & speaking skills      
  • Songs, rhymes & chants and poems        
  • Drama and role play       
  • Storytelling activities      
  • TPR (Total Physical Response) Activities

These courses aim to provide teachers of English at primary level with:

  • an opportunity to exchange ideas and develop links with teachers from primary schools in other European countries
 
  • cultural background to Life in Ireland

Methodology & assessment

- Courses are delivered by education professionals with many years’ experience of teaching and training EU-funded teachers

- Practical workshops are tailored to the participants’ training needs

- Collaborative working

- Feedback and guidance from trainers

- Reflection activities to encourage participants to think critically about their teaching practice and how to make improvements

- At the end of the course teachers participate in a detailed evaluation of the course

Certification details

  • A certificate of attendance (stating course title, location, dates, content, learning outcomes and number of hours) will be provided as required by the Quality standards for courses under Key Action 1
  • Erasmus+ documentation will be validated
  • Teachers will be provided with advice on how to complete their Learning Agreements if requested
